The cabin is located at the very top of a steep, bumpy, unpaved mountain road. Think of it as your physical transition from the stressful daily grind to your relaxing hideaway. Because of this, a 4WD, AWD, or high-clearance vehicle is absolutely REQUIRED. Please do not attempt this drive in a low-clearance sedan or sports car. We also highly recommend planning your initial arrival before sunset so you can comfortably navigate the mountain road in the daylight! Once you conquer the hill and see the view, we promise you'll agree the journey was worth it. There is ample parking for two cars but if you need to bring a third vehicle, we recommend parking at the bottom of the hill just below the cabin.

Even though you will feel a million miles away from the real world, you are actually perfectly positioned right in the middle of the best towns in the Smoky Mountains. You are just a quick, scenic drive from almost everything:

• Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort (15 Mins / 7 Miles): If you want an adults-only night out, world-class dining, or live entertainment, the casino is incredibly close.

• Downtown Bryson City (15 Mins / 9 Miles): Our favorite mountain town! Home to amazing local coffee shops, breweries, and boutique shopping.

• Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (15 Mins): Located right in downtown Bryson City. Whether you are coming for the summer Nantahala Gorge run, the Fall Foliage train, or the famous Polar Express, you are right down the road.

• Downtown Sylva (20 Mins / 13 Miles): A picture-perfect, walkable downtown packed with great restaurants, antique shops, and local breweries. It is also home to the famous City Lights Bookstore—an absolute must-visit to stock up for your cabin reading retreat!

• Local River Tubing (15-20 Mins): You can't come to the mountains in the summer without floating down a river! Head over to Deep Creek in the National Park for their famous tube drop, or hit up the Tuckasegee River for a lazy, relaxing afternoon float.

• Nantahala Outdoor Center - NOC (30 Mins / 22 Miles): The absolute mecca for outdoor adventure. Whether you want to book a guided whitewater rafting trip, zipline through the gorge, or just grab a burger and a beer right on the water to watch the kayakers paddle by, it is well worth the scenic drive.

• Deep Creek & The National Park (20 Mins): The easiest access to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, famous for its gorgeous, easy-to-navigate waterfall hikes.

• Blue Ridge Parkway Access (20 Mins): You are incredibly close to the southern terminus of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Take a scenic drive to catch breathtaking overlooks, especially during the fall foliage season or for a stunning sunset.

• Iconic Waterfalls (20-25 Mins): You don't have to go far to see some of the best waterfalls in North Carolina! Head to the nearby Deep Creek area to hike the famous "Three Waterfalls Loop," or take a short drive over to Cherokee to see the towering, 120-foot Mingo Falls.
