How do I get the keys or door code?
We use a keyless smart lock for easy self check-in. You will receive an email and text message 48 hours before your arrival with your unique door code and step-by-step driving directions.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Our check-in time is 3:00 pm and our check-out time is 11:00 am. To ensure our cleaning team has enough time to perfectly prepare the cabin and hot tub for every guest, we generally cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. If you have a special request, please message us 24 hours in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate if the calendar allows.
What is the parking situation?
Our private gravel driveway can comfortably fit up to 3 vehicles. Because we are in a remote woodland area, we highly recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle during the winter months or after heavy rain, as the final stretch of road can be uneven.
What kind of coffee maker do you have?
At the Re-Up Retreat, we take caffeination seriously. We have a Keurig that can brew hot and iced coffee, an espresso machine, a Mr. Coffee for large groups, and a french press along with a kettle should you want tea. You can bring your own coffee if you like, but we offer K-cups (caffeinated and decaf), whole bean coffee with a grinder, hot cocoa pouches, and an assortment of teas. We also offer liquid creamer packets as well as sweeteners.
Do I need to bring firewood?
The Re-Up Retreat's fire amenities, like the fireplace, firepit, and grill are all gas powered and propane is provided. No need to lug logs up the mountain to stay with us. We actually prefer no burning occurs onsite to preserve the natural landscape and wildlife around us.
What is provided in the kitchen?
Our kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. You will find pots, pans, baking sheets, measuring cups, and utensils. We also provide basic cooking oil, salt, pepper, and a small spice rack, along with dish soap, sponge, and dishwasher pods.
Are linens and towels provided?
Yes! All beds are made with fresh linens, and we provide a set of bath towels and washcloths for each guest. For the hot tub: We provide separate, specific hot tub towels—please use these outdoors rather than the white bath towels! We also provide towels for your dog's feet should they get muddy while you are out.
Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes, our cabin runs on a filtered well-water system, making it completely safe to drink and bathe in. However, well water can sometimes have a different mineral taste than city water. If you are sensitive to water taste, you may want to bring a few gallons of drinking water.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes, we’d love to host your furry best friend! We allow up to 2 well-behaved dogs for free. We just ask that you crate them if you leave the cabin without them (crates for dogs up to 50 lbs are provided) and clean up after them in the yard (we have poop bags and a designated trash can for pet waste). Please wipe muddy paws before coming inside(we have pet towels and wet wipes for you)! We also provide dog beds for inside, dog hammocks for outside, food and water bowls as well as treats. We pride ourselves on being one of the most dog friendly short term rentals in the Great Smoky Mountains.
What about cats?
We love cats and have one of our own. However, they can be prone to getting lost or going missing, especially in new places, and we would rather not play a part in their stress.
What's the Wi-Fi speed, and is there cell service?
We have pretty good internet with Frontier internet with high speeds as well as decent coverage if you are a Verizon customer. We have hosted many guests and we are yet to receive a complaint about the wifi or cell service.
What do we do with our trash?
You don't have to take out the trash at The Re-Up Retreat. We do ask all loose trash be placed in a trash can inside the house so our turnover team can dispose of it appropriately. But if you do have to take trash out, please make sure all loose trash is in a large trash bag (provided by us) and in one of our bear-resistant cans outside.
Can I Smoke Inside?
We are a non-smoking property so smoking of any kind and vaping is prohibited. We provide ashtrays and plenty of outdoor covered seating so you can smoke outside comfortably. Please refer to our policies page regarding fees incurred if the turnover team reports that there was smoking in the property.
Will we see wild animals or bugs?
Part of the charm of the Re-Up Retreat is being immersed in nature! You may see deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, or even the occasional bear. Because it is a woodland environment, you will also see bugs. Please keep all doors and window screens shut to keep our insect friends outside where they belong.
